EACO Position on COVID-19 Vaccination

We recognize that there are different views on COVID and the vaccine, but what we can agree on is that we want to treat each other with respect and to keep each other safe. This shows Christ’s love.  EACO considers the vaccines currently in use in Canada to be safe and effective in preventing severe illness and death from COVID-19, and the benefits they provide in health and safety in the context of the current EACO environment is obvious.  EACO encourages everyone eligible to protect themselves and others by being vaccinated.

  • Getting the vaccine is a personal choice.  Please be respectful of an individual’s decision.
  • We kindly remind everyone, including those fully vaccinated, to continue wearing a mask in public areas and socially distance where possible when doing ministry or attending an event or church function, whether in the church building or elsewhere.
  • Although we do not have a requirement of vaccination to attend EACO, we do require anyone serving in-person in ministries related to seniors and children, as well as those whose ministry requires extensive in-person interaction with others to be fully vaccinated.
