About Emmanuel Alliance Church of Ottawa:

EACO’s history dates back to 1989, when seven families formed a Cantonese speaking church in west Ottawa.  It has since grown into a multi-lingual church with a cross-cultural focus.  It has Cantonese, Mandarin and English congregations, with average weekly attendance of approximately 350 people.  The size of the English congregation is about 90 people, with attendees ranging from junior high students to retirees.  EACO also has a vibrant children’s ministry and youth ministry, which serve and connect its three congregations.

We are looking for a pastor who can serve in the English congregation, while working together with the other congregations in support of EACO’s cross-cultural vision:

To be a vibrant church in the city of Ottawa in transforming people of different cultures to become devoted followers of Christ

We seek a pastor who loves the church.  Someone who will connect with and shepherd the congregation.  He will have a passion for God’s Word, which will be demonstrated through his teaching and preaching.  He will be a strong leader and will help to develop and nurture other leaders from within our congregation.  He will have a heart for people and a desire to evangelize, disciple, and see people grow in Christ.

  • Completed formal evangelical-based theological training.
  • Agreement with the doctrine and statement of faith of C&MA (Canadian Missionary Alliance) (see: Home – The Alliance Canada
  • Pastoral experience in a cross-cultural church with a good understanding of the Chinese culture is an asset.

Enquiries and applications (including testimony of conversion and calling to pastoral ministry) may be addressed to the English Pastoral Search Committee at <>.
